Job Purpose

To lead the development and implementation of the organisation's Microsoft 365 capability, governance and digital ways of working, ensuring SharePoint, Power Platform and associated technologies deliver efficient, robust and scalable business solutions that improve collaboration, data quality and decision making across the organisation. 

The postholder will establish and maintain governance frameworks, standards and best practice for Microsoft 365 technologies, whilst driving adoption of solutions that replace legacy spreadsheet and VBA-based processes with sustainable, business-owned services. 

Key Responsibilities

•    Transform the organisation's project data management capability by replacing the current Excel and VBA-based data collection and integration processes with a robust Microsoft 365-based solution that improves governance, reliability and reporting
•    Own the Microsoft 365 capability across the organisation including governance, standards and continuous improvement 
•    Develop and implement a Microsoft 365 capability roadmap that supports organisational objectives and maximises value from the Microsoft technology investment
•    Establish and maintain SharePoint governance, information architecture and best practice standards to improve collaboration, document management and knowledge sharing across the organisation
•    Responsible for driving adoption of Microsoft 365, Power Platform and modern data management practices across the organisation
•    Design and deliver business solutions that replace manual and spreadsheet-based processes with secure, scalable and maintainable digital services
•    Support departments to adopt and make effective use of Microsoft 365 solutions, including SharePoint, Teams, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and related services, to improve business performance and user experience
•    Establish data management standards, controls and processes that ensure accuracy, consistency, security and auditability of organisational information
•    Develop organisational capability through training, coaching, guidance and communities of practice that promote self-sufficiency and continuous improvement
•    Undertake additional duties as required to support the broader objectives of the organisation 


Person Specification – Experience, Knowledge and Skills

•    Degree-level qualification in an IT, Digital, Information Management or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
•    Demonstrable experience delivering Microsoft 365 solutions, including SharePoint and Power Platform, to support business process improvement and organisational efficiency
•    Experience replacing manual, spreadsheet-based or legacy processes with practical and sustainable digital solutions
•    Good understanding of SharePoint governance, information architecture, document management and data management principles
•    Experience supporting business change, user adoption and continuous improvement initiatives
•    Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organisation
•    Strong problem-solving, planning and project delivery skills, with the ability to balance business needs with governance and control requirements
•    Customer-focused approach with a commitment to quality, continuous improvement and delivering outcomes
•    Ability to influence, coach and support others in adopting new ways of working and developing digital capability
•    Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
